Parish Education
Martin Luther stated that Worship and Education are the twin pillars upon which the church stands. Without both, a church will fall.
At St. John’s, we take Parish education very seriously. We understand that growing from “attenders” of St. John’s to “disciples” of Jesus is a life-long process.
We are known as a very “kid friendly” place. Sunday School is offered for children from 3 years old through 5th grade. It is held each Sunday @ 10:30 a.m. from mid September through mid May. Children younger than 3 are encouraged to be in Worship with their parents. We even provide a “kid friendly” space in the back of the church with rockers and plush toys for “squirmy” kids.

Youth Ministry at St. John's Lutheran Church of Lindenhurst NY encourages all of God's children to walk together shining in God's love as we explore God's diverse world.
Vision:
In order to realize this mission we understand the following:
- This Mission is a part of everyday life - at church, at home, at school and on the playground
- We are about empowering and encouraging a balanced Christian life
- We see this mission as providing opportunities to be free to express our faith in God both at St. John's and wherever we are
- With God's guiding hand, we create a warm and safe environment for all to be themselves
Adult Education takes prime place at St. John’s as well. We offer several opportunities for Adults including: Adult Bible Study, Call to Discipleship, Congregational Retreats and short term classes such as Christianity 101.
